Solterra Energy Signs 300 MW Solar Agreement With Midwest Utility

DENVER, Colo. — Solterra Energy Group today announced a 15-year power purchase agreement to deliver 300 megawatts of solar generation to a major Midwest utility, enough to power approximately 90,000 homes.

Construction on the associated solar array is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with commercial operation targeted for 2028. The project is expected to support more than 400 construction jobs at peak.

“This agreement reflects the growing appetite among utilities for firm, competitively priced renewable power,” said Laura Whitfield, chief executive officer of Solterra Energy Group.

Solterra said the contract brings its contracted pipeline to more than 2 gigawatts across nine states.
